Security guards opened fire on alleged robbers who had been fleeing after committing a robbery, killing one of them and injuring another.

The injured suspect was handed over to police by the people of the area. A large number of people gathered on the spot as soon as the death and injury of the alleged robbers was reported.

Two alleged armed robbers arrived at Ilyas Ahmed’s battery shop near Lakkar Mandi under the guise of customers and stole Rs500,000 at gunpoint. Meanwhile, a security guard opened fire on the fleeing “robbers”, killing 32-year-old Khurram and injuring 35-year-old Omar Farooq.

Meanwhile, DSP Qazi Farooq Sultan, SHO of Jhang Bazaar Asim Rasheed Mahes and others reached the spot.

They shifted the injured “robber” to the hospital and took possession of the body of slain Khurram and shifted it to the mortuary.
