DIJKOT:

A man, along with his family members, allegedly tortured and tried to kill his wife when she asked for household expenses, police said. She was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police have registered a case against five accused.

In the case filed by Fakhrul Nisa, a resident of Street No. 1 of Premier Mill Colony, it has been stated that Nisa was married to Asif 16 months ago. The couple have a two-month-old son.

Asif's attitude towards her had not been good from the very beginning, and he even used to beat her, said Fakhrul Nisa in her complaint.

Nisa said that her husband flew into a rage when she asked him to give her money and also to end his affair with another woman.

The victim said that her husband, along with his brother Sarfraz, mother Shafqat Bibi, sisters Zahida Bibi and Rizwana Bibi, locked her up in a room and tried to strangulate her.

She was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.
