LAHORE:

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz will start addressing rallies from coming Saturday to canvas for her party's candidates contesting the by-polls in Punjab.

According to her staff, she will be addressing rallies in three constituencies of Lahore on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Her staffers said that the plan for remaining constituencies was being chalked out (till the filing of this report).

Presence of Maryam will charge the party voters, and bring the much-needed energy to the PML-N camp that was facing challenges on two fronts: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the ever rising inflation.

The elections that are being held in 20 provincial assembly constituencies will determine who will get the keys to the office of the provincial chief minister.

For PML-N to retain its government with simple majority, it is important for it to win at least 10 seats while it needs at least eight seats to retain its otherwise majority.

PTI on the other needs at least 13 seats to regain its majority while its needs 14 seats to ensure its simple majority in the house.

PTI chief Imran has already wrapped up a whirlwind tour to Lahore, addressing rallies in its constituencies.
