Like father, like son! Atif Aslam’s son Ahad joined him for the very first time during a live performance in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday. The 8-year-old garnered much praise for singing a few verses of Tajdar-e-Haram in front of a large crowd.
In a video taking rounds on social media, Ahad is heard telling the crowd, “I'll sing Tajdar-e-Haram, two or three lines,” and then proceeds to confidently sing a few verses as his father. The crowd can be seen singing along with him too while the Jal Pari singer is also seen encouraging his son to give the crowd a performance.
Tajdar-e-Haram which was an original qawwali by the Sabri brothers and in 2016, Atif sang his own rendition with Coke Studio during season 8. His version of the song blew up and re-introduced this Sabri brothers original to a newer generation. The song has over 383 million views on Youtube and 3.2 million likes.
Atif has had major success over the years, he made his debut in the music industry with his album Jal Pari in 2004 which launched him onto the path of fame. His journey with Coke Studio began in 2009 during season 2 with the qawwali, Hum Mustafavi.
In 2008, he worked in Bollywood and sang the popular song Pehli Nazar Mein for the film, Race. He went on to produce several songs for Pakistani and Indian movies alike, transcending borders with his music which acts as a tool to break down the cultural barriers between the fans from the neigbouring countries.
