A baby is 'coming soon' for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor
Congratulations are in order for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who have just announced they are expecting their first baby!
A baby is "coming soon" for the couple, as per an announcement made on Bhatt's Instagram handle. The post sees the duo staring at a sonogram in the hospital, with the screen blurred and a heart emoticon pasted on it. The caption reads, "Our baby….. coming soon."
Their Brahmastra co-star Mouni Roy immediately commented, "Immensely happy" followed by heart emojis. Bhatt's mother Soni Razdan also chimed in, "congratulations mama and papa lion," addressing the second photo Bhatt shared, featuring a family of lions. The actor's godfather, filmmaker Karan Johar and actors Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra and Tiger Shroff congratulated the stars on the good news as well.
And while many sent their prayers, others speculated whether the announcement is a promotional gimmick for their upcoming film Brahmastra, provided it may be "too soon" for the stars to be expecting a child.
Bhatt and Kapoor tied the knot in an intimate ceremony just two months ago on April 14. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actor announced the news with photos of her and Kapoor performing wedding rituals at their close-knit nuptials attended by family and friends. The event was widely covered, making headlines for all the right reasons.
Kapoor spoke about his marriage with Bhatt in a recent press conference saying, "It has been a very big year for me, a great year for me, I got married. It is a beautiful thing that has happened in my life. I used to say in my films," referring to Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, "that shaadi is dal chawal for pachaas saal till you die. Arey life mein thoda bahut keema pav, tangdi kebab, hakka noodles bhi hona chahiye na!”
The actor added, “But boss, after my experiences in life, I can say that dal chawal is the best. My life with Alia is the best. Alia is dal chawal with tadka, pickles and onions, everything! So, I couldn’t have asked for a better life partner."
On the work front, Kapoor and Bhatt will be seen in Brahmastra, that will hit Indian theatres on September 9. Bhatt has Darlings, Jee Le Zaraa, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, alongside her Hollywood debut in Heart of Stone in the pipeline. While Kapoor will be seen in Shamshera, Luv Ranjan’s untitled next project and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal.
