Brad Pitt's latest photo shoot sparks concerns and memes on Twitter

From taking a dig at his divorce to some ageist comments, social media users showed no mercy to the actor

Actor Brad Pitt, a heartthrob for decades in Hollywood and beyond, is now being trolled by social media users for his latest photos for a GQ spread. While the no-holds-barred interview was about the 58-year-old's journey after a much publicised divorce –a rather serious topic – the “artistic” angle that the publication has explored with Pitt’s revival story seems to have backfired.

Aiming to reveal how broken Pitt is while recovering from an alcohol addiction and an acrimonious divorce, he is shot posing in “heartbreaking” positions, lying crumpled with his eyes drowning in a pool of grief. For some reason, the shoot is located in the national parks of the USA and the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor is placed in slightly odd contortions in, for instance, a cave and even a dessert.

The shoot has now turned into an A-grade meme material for social media users taking a dig at his much-hyped divorced with Angelina Jolie. From photoshopping on the said pictures to comparing his postures to a fallopian tube, Twitter did not hold back on humour.

Pitt and Jolie met while filming 2005 movie Mr & Mrs Smith. He had then divorced actor Jennifer Aniston, adopted Jolie’s three children and had three more. Years later, in 2014, they married on their French estate. Last year, the former couple announced they were divorcing, amid allegations that the actor had been violent towards his children. He was later cleared.

Brad Pitt's earliest success was as a charming but no-good heartbreaker in Thelma And Louise. He is the star of films like Legends Of The Fall, Seven, Troy, Fight Club and the Ocean's Eleven films headlined by George Clooney. Brad Pitt has been nominated for Oscars for his work in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, 12 Monkeys and Moneyball. He was last seen in Allied.
