Official says work on Jhikagali-Bhurban section in full swing

Carpeting of 34 kilometers of road in Murree has been completed, while work is in full swing on the road from Jhikagli to Bhurban and from Gul Dana to Bariyan, said Commissioner Rawalpindi Noor-ul Amin Mengal.

He was talking to Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz regarding Murree projects through a video link.

He said added, that the renovation work of Murree has been completed while work is underway on the project to improve the front location in addition to the signboards on Murree shops, which will ultimately promote tourism in the valley.

The official said that all the officers of district administration would be on duty in Murree during Eidul Azha holidays. The holidays of officers and workers have been canceled to ensure their availability during holidays.

He shared that a comprehensive traffic plan has been made to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on roads, while 2 control rooms are being set up to monitor other arrangements. One of the control rooms will be set up near 17 Mile Toll Plaza while the other will be at Jinnah Hall Murree, he said.

Mengal said that Murree has a capacity of 8,000 vehicles so after more vehicles will not be allowed at 17 Mile Toll Plaza.

Orders have been issued regarding the display of rate lists in hotels and restaurants in Murree in order to control the prices of different items at the recreation spots and profiteers will be dealt with severely as per law, he said.
