Police claim that a man was slain by two people he trusted most, his wife and his brother.

Police have arrested two suspects during investigations into the murder of a labourer, Nemat Gul, who was killed at his residence in North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Tawheed.

As per the confessional statement of Nemat’s wife Parveen, she and his brother Shahid Gul killed him. “We were in love and wanted to remove Nemat from the way,” Parveen said breaking down during interrogation at the remand room of the precinct.

As per police, Nemat was brutally tortured then stabbed multiple times on June 9. The victim’s brother, Shahid, lodged a complaint at a nearby police station and misguided police by claiming the murder was a robbery incident.

In his complaint, Shahid stated that four unidentified robbers broke into the house and killed his brother with a sharp knife, and took away Rs25,000 cash and gold jewelry.

A murder case was registered against the unknown accused on the basis of the complaint lodged by victim’s brother.

Meanwhile, during the course of investigation police found clues that suggested that Parveen and Shahid had killed Nemat. According to SP Investigation Central Shehla Qureshi, the accused, Parveen, killed her husband, Nemat Gul, at the hands of Shahid Gul, and registered a case of a robbery incident. The SP said that the investigation revealed the facts.

During the investigation, the accused confessed that she and the victim’s brother were in love, therefore, they planned to kill him, he said. The accused, Parveen, was a mother of two children.
