As the city prepares for the onsalught of the monsoon season, Karachi Administrator Barrister Murtaza Wahab stated in May that necessary work in drainage is underway. He assured that locals would not face any issues this year.
Wahab gave these assurances while laying down the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the main road of Shahrah-e- Noorjahan at a cost of Rs1.3 billion.
"The two-lane road will be constructed from Abdullah Girls College to Qalandaria Chowk. The 4.288 km two lane road's width will be 11 metres. Service roads will also be constructed along the main road, while drainage and sewerage systems, as well as street lights, will also be installed," the administrator said.
