Popular television personality and former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Aamir Liaquat Hussain passed away on Thursday at his residence in Karachi. Reportedly, the Karachi-based politician and televangelist was found unconscious at his house and was rushed to a hospital in the provincial capital.
Since the news broke, social media users and celebrities have expressed shock, and grief and offered condolences to his family. Artists such as Ushna Shah, Armeena Rana Khan, Faysal Quraishi among others took to social media and spoke about his death. Zhalay penned, "May his soul Rest In Peace. Allah maghfirat farmaeein! Aameen."

Saad ur Rehman, aka Ducky Bhai, shared, "Amir Liaquat is no more with us. Life is so unpredictable. Make good use of it. Stop chasing money and get ready to face the death. We all still have time. May Allah forgive him. Rest in peace."

"Saddened by this news today," Anoushey Ashraf took to Instagram and penned. "Depression, mental illness can be a very, very real sickness when often left unchecked and can cause serious harm to their victim. Was always encouraging of the idea that maybe his outbursts were a cry for help. Help he may not have known he needed. People may get offended by my thoughts but I've genuinely felt a professional would have been able to handle his stresses and personality disorder better."

She then added, "Rest in peace, Aamir Liaquat, for as much as I disagreed with your ways of doing things, I never wished to see this day. I truly feel at loss today."
Dua Malik posted several pictures with Liaquat and dedicated a long post to him. "My dear Aamir Bhai, my eyes and heart are both crying. No one knows how many people you helped. The Aamir Bhai who came whenever you asked, the Aamir Bhai who stood with you in times of need, the Aamir Bhai who held your hand when you were in pain. For God's sake, stop your social wars. Stop mocking people's deaths on social media. For God's sake, spread love," she wrote.
Sanam Jung, Shehzad Noor, Humaima Malick, Faysal Quraishi, Yasir Jaswal among others took to Instagram and shared the news with prayers for the departed.
The Sinf-e-Aahan star, Merub, shared a thought-provoking point and commented, "Step 1: Make memes on people. Step 2: Play God and punish them. Step 3: When they leave this world, put up sympathetic posts. And repeat." She then added, "Who is going to put an end to this aimless trolling?"

Hussain was born on July 5, 1971, in Karachi to politician Sheikh Liaquat Hussain and columnist Mahmooda Sultana. Hussain started his career in the entertainment industry as a radio broadcaster on FM101. However, he catapulted to fame with his popular Ramazan transmission on a local channel.
Hussain became famous due to a religious program he hosted on a local channel, Aalim Online. In January 2014, he became the vice president of Geo TV and hosted the game show Inaam Ghar.
The famous television host was also an important member of PTI. However, in April of this year, Hussain announced his decision of leaving the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf following the dissolution of the National Assembly (NA).
Taking to the microblogging website Twitter, the television personality said, “After the drama is over, I want to say that what the prime minister did prove that the opposition was doing the right thing, so I am announcing to leave the PTI.”
