KARACHI:

Residents of the Federal Capital (FC) Area in Liaquatabad staged a peaceful protest and sit-in outside K-Electric IBC office against unannounced power outage. They demanded to at least end load-shedding in night hours.

The protestors including elderly persons, youth, men, women, and children said that despite paying their electricity bills, they were bearing unannounced load shedding of 12 to 14 hours in FC Area.

The protestors went on to say that hours of unannounced power cuts at night have robbed people of their comfort and they could not sleep properly.

During the protest, talks were held between the officials of FC Area Residence Welfare Association and the officials of K Electric. FC Area Residence Welfare Association leader Muhammad Nadeem said that K Electric officials had assured of contacting the head office to end load-shedding in night.
