Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Qatar: Gen Bajwa

Army looks forward for enhanced defence and security cooperation with Qatar armed forces, says COAS

Commander Qatar Emiri Air Force Major General (Pilot) Jassim Mohamed Ahmed Al-Mannai called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, the military said in a statement.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, matters of mutual and professional interests and regional security situation were discussed.

The COAS said that Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Qatar and Pakistan Army also looks forward for enhanced defence and security cooperation with Qatar armed forces.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged the professionalism of Pakistan armed forces and vowed to enhance cooperation in various fields, the military media wing further said.

Last month, Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Turkey General (retd) Hulusi Akar had called on General Qamar and discussed issues of mutual interest, said the ISPR.

The two discussed regional stability, as well as defence and security cooperation between both the countries and overall regional security.

According to the military's media wing, the visiting dignitary also appreciated Pakistan’s contribution to regional security and connectivity and also reaffirmed Turkey’s full sport to Pakistan’s stance on regional and international issues.

During the meeting, both COAS and the Turkish defence minister reiterated the desire to further enhance bilateral relations including efforts for bringing peace and stability to the region.
