Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister Malik Abrar Ahmed has said that the business community is playing a vital role in the development of the economy and the government will take all possible measures to resolve the key issues.
He assured businessmen that their suggestions for the betterment of the economy would be given due consideration.
He gave the assurance while meeting a delegation of businessmen, led by acting Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Jamshed Akhtar Sheikh.
Speaking on the occasion, the acting ICCI president said that the business community would extend all possible cooperation to the government in its efforts to overcome the energy crisis, as uninterrupted power supply was essential for better growth of trade and industrial activities.
As the government was considering changing working hours of markets to save electricity so that businesses could make maximum use of daylight, it should consult the stakeholders to determine the new timings, he stressed.
This way, “maximum energy can be saved and business activities can also be protected from damages”.
