PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has said that leaked audio tape — purportedly a conversation between the Bahria Town chief and his daughter – revealing how Farah Gogi 'demanded a gift' for former first lady Bushra Bibi is just a “tip of the iceberg” of former prime minister Imran Khan’s corruption.
“Farah Gogi was only a front person and the real beneficiary was Imran Khan,” Maryam said while addressing the PML-N social media team in Lahore on Monday.
She alleged that Farah, a close friend of the former first lady, received bribes in the transfer and posting of officials through former Punjab chief minster Usman Buzdar.
“Bani Gala [residence of former PM Imran] was the headquarters of corruption.. this latest audio clip is an eye-opener,” she added.
During the conversation, the woman in the audio clip was saying to her father that Farah allegedly demanded a precious diamond as a gift for the ex-first lady in return for "removing locks" on a project site and withdrawing a report against her father.
Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz said that the audio clip attributed to him on social media was fake, stressing that it was not surprising to create fake audio in the presence of deep-fake technology.

'Pakistan's economy is on ventilator'
Speaking about the economy and rising inflation, Maryam said all sectors of the country are in shambles and when the PML-N came into power the country was on the verge of default.
“The PML-N is not thinking about its politics it is only thinking about the country... no other political party could take such tough decisions that the PML-N has taken ahead of the elections,” she added.
“We will steer the country out of the crisis... We have done that and we will do that again... this is our slogan today..”
Maryam said media debate should now be focused on public issues rather than on those “spreading chaos and anarchy” in the country. The ruling party leader maintained that the PTI while in power “destroyed” the country and strained the country’s ties with friendly countries.
“The one [Imran] who was out on streets to bring revolution is now securing transit bails from courts,” she added.
Unfortunately, whenever PML-N comes to power it lifts a “ruined Pakistan” out of difficulties and put it on a path of prosperity, she added.
