Movie: Our Father

It is normal to have multiple siblings, but what is not normal is to possibly have more than 94 siblings that you didn’t know you had. This is where Our Father follows the life of whose Dr Donald Cline. The documentary film features interviews of parents and their children about how they met Dr Cline, who was their fertility specialist. What started as one woman’s simple at-home DNA test, soon turned into a revelation about her several half-siblings. The documentary chronicles her search for answers, resulting in the discovery of a shocking discovery about a popular fertility doctor. The documentary also highlights the victims of the scheme’s attempt to find justice.

Podcast: How Did This Get Made

A podcast on the Earwolf Network, starring Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael, and Jason Mantzoukas, takes comedic banter on terrible films that you can't help loving. The podcast also has a Matinee Monday where they take scenes from a film and recreate them live on stage. It's a funny and entertaining podcast with comedians that have an honest appreciation for the films that they cover. They have guest stars such as Weird Al Yankovic, Abbi Jacobson and Thomas Lennon, all of whom participate in the matinees. The films they cover are obscure to the majority of audience members. These films are just terrible, but this podcast takes the joy of watching something hilariously bad.

Book: Blind Spot: Quick Read 2022

From the author of The Girl on The Train and A Slow Fire Burning, Paula Hawkins, gives the reader a short story that delivers the same suspenseful drama that she is known for. The story is about Edie, who’s friend Jake is brutally murdered and her other friend Ryan is blamed for it. Jake’s murder, leaves Edie alone in the remote house she shared with Jake. Lonely and grieving from the loss of her friends, Edie feels a watchful eye lurking around her as if it’s been waiting for her to be alone. This story is a hard-to-put-down quick read and won’t take long to finish. It also gives you the same type of suspenseful, compulsively-readable plot that Hawkins is known for delivering.
