Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone was not only an attendee at the 75th edition of Cannes Film Festival but an official part of the eight-member jury at the prestigious festival. On the first day of the event, the diva gracefully swooned audiences at the French Riviera and worldwide. In between outfit critiques and compliments, fans zoomed into one of Padukone’s outfits and were left surprised by an Arabic prayer engraved on its stone.

Padukone sported a retro chic look with a printed beige Mysore silk shirt featuring a digital rendering of hand-painted vintage flora inspired by Company paintings made by the Sabyasachi Art Foundation. The full sleeves silk shirt was teamed with a pair of contrasting baggy green pleated wool trousers. To complete the 90s look, she wore a matching silk hair band that pulled her hair back.

Coming to the most hyped accessory, the Padmaavat actor paired the western attire with the Lucknow Rose - a deconstructed Maharani necklace that was crafted with extensively sourced multi coloured gemstones and uncut diamonds. On a closer look at the necklace, the hefty piece has an Arabic prayer statement, “Fi Aman Allah,” which means ‘In God’s Safety’ written on one of the stones.

This added detail in the contemporary necklace has won many hearts.
