While numerous celebrities have in recent times voiced their support for former prime minister Imran Khan, actor Adnan Siddiqui, who recently made his production debut with Dum Mastam, is in London, rubbing shoulders with Nawaz Sharif and Twitter has a lot to say.
On Monday, Siddiqui, who is currently visiting the UK to promote Dum Mustam, showed up at Hussain Nawaz’s office, where the ousted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo, Sharif was staying. A video recorded outside the office shows Siddiqui interacting with Sulaiman Shehbaz. Shehbaz can be heard asking Siddiqui whether he is going for a walk in the neighbourhood. In response, Siddiqui says he is there to meet with Sharif. Surprised, the official inquires whether Siddiqui had an appointment, to which Siddiqui replies in the affirmative. The Meray Paas Tum Ho actor is then promptly invited inside the office.

Following this, a picture is released of him standing next to Sharif. “It was a great meeting,” Siddiqui recalls in a video message recorded after the meeting. “I came here to promote my film and have invited him [Sharif], to come watch it.” The veteran also shares how he informed Sharif about the hard work that went into bringing Dum Mastam to life. Siddiqui says that Sharif, while acknowledging the contributions of artists like himself, told him that he has worked on policies specific to the entertainment sector.
But many on social media are now wondering whether Siddiqui has, in fact, dug his own grave. “Adnan Siddiqui just fired a bullet in his own foot,” a user remarked on Twitter.

Unfortunately there is no financial support or infrastructure for the film industry. Support Pakistani content above foreign content always."
