Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has lashed out at former prime minister Imran Khan and his predecessor Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, warning both the “devils against mischievous actions”.
In a statement on Sunday, Sanaullah called PTI Chairman Imran a “Double Shah” of Pakistan’s politics who he said doubled his wealth through plundering the people of the country.
“While his peon [Rashid] following in the footsteps of his boss [Imran] also amassed ill-gotten wealth,” he added.
Sanaullah said both Rashid and Imran are fooling the masses by spreading lies.
A day earlier, the PTI chief dropped a bombshell, claiming an “assassination attempt” was being hatched against him – video evidence of which was kept in a “secure place”.
The former prime minister, who is poised to take the great leap to the federal capital, made the startling claims while addressing a charged public gathering in Sialkot on Saturday.

In what was a prelude to his ‘Azadi March’ as the country braces for another acrimonious chapter in the political landscape, Imran told his supporters a plot was being orchestrated against his life, saying: “I have named all those elements involved in the conspiracy in the video. I knew about it and I got full knowledge of it a few days ago.”
Separately, Sanaullah said the PML-N government would put the country back on track and improve the current economic situation with the help of allied parties.
Talking to a private news channel, the minister expressed regret over “incompetent coterie” of the previous government which destroyed the economy badly.
Responding to a question about his party plans to contest joint elections with allied parties or would they field their own candidates, Sanaullah said that no such decision has been made by the party leadership yet.
