Bollywood actor Sohail Khan and his wife of 24 years, Seema, filed for divorce on Friday, reported The Indian Express. The couple, who tied the knot in 1998 had been living separately for a while now. A source from the family court told ETimes that "Sohail Khan and Seema Sachdev were present in the court today. They have filed for a divorce. Both were friendly towards each other."
Their separation was confirmed when Seema appeared on Netflix's reality show, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. Commenting about her relationship on the aforementioned show, Seema had previously said, "It's just that sometimes when you grow older, your relationship meanders and goes into different directions. I make no apologies about it because we are happy and my kids are happy. Sohail and I are not in a conventional marriage but we are a family. We are a unit. For us, he and I and our children matter at the end of the day."
In episode four of the Netflix show, the former couple’s son, Nirvan comes back from his university in the United States. Upon his return, he visits Seema’s newly renovated house and mentions that he will visit when he can. Seema gets upset and worried that he will not visit or come to stay with her, but instead, choose to stay with his father.
Nirvan responded, “You are talking as if I live across the ocean. I live across the street”, and Seema then told the camera “I don’t see enough of him. He stays with his dad, and he comes here and sleeps. It’s one of the most annoying things about Nirvan”.
