Sharjeel directs KMC, DMC officials to clear obstacles on BRT routes

Sindh Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon directed Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and District Metropolitan Corporations officials to clear the hurdles, encroachments and complete repair work along the routes of Sindh People's Intra district Bus Service as Sindh government will launch it in the last week of the current month under all circumstances.

The minister said that in first phase of the project buses will start operating on two routes of Karachi and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and CM Murad Ali Shah will inaugurate the project. This was said while the Minister was presiding over a meeting along with LG Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Labour Saeed Ghani and Administrator Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab regarding the launch of Sindh People's Intra District Bus Service project on Friday at Sindh Mass Transit Authority office.

He said that National Radio Transmission Company had conducted a detailed survey on the proposed seven routes of the bus service and identified the hindrances and suggested improvement of the routes. Sharjeel said that the District Administration, KMC, DMC's and traffic police should remove all the identified hurdles. He suggested formation of separate teams of KMC and DMC's and start work immediately on the routes in coordination with Sindh Mass Transit Authority, National Radio Transmission Company.
