The Sindh High Court directed Dua Zehra to appear at the next hearing while issuing a written order on her father, Mehdi Ali Kazmi's, request regarding alleged kidnapping and child marriage.
A two-member SHC bench headed by Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro issued a written order directing SSP East and SHO Al-Falah to produce Dua Zahra at the next hearing. The court issued notices to the Sindh Prosecutor General and others for May 19.
Kazmi has taken a stance that SSP East, SHO Al-Falah and the investigation officer should be ordered to recover Dua from Zaheer Ahmed and produce her in the court.
Police protection should be given to Dua and her family, and her wedding with Zaheer Ahmed on April 17 should be declared illegal. As per NADRA record, Dua Zehra was 13 years old at the time of her free-will marriage with Zaheer Ahmed which was against the Restraint of Child Marriage Act.
