Minister for Energy (Power Division) Khurram Dastgir Khan visited the NTDC headquarters at the Wapda House on Monday.
NTDC Managing Director Manzoor Ahmad gave a detailed presentation on the overview of NTDC and the progress on ongoing projects.
The minister was apprised that NTDC operated as a reliable transmission system and efficiently evacuated a record generation of 24,566 MW during 2021.
He was informed that the transmission capacity was being enhanced through the augmentation of existing transformers and the addition of new transformers as well as through new grid station and transmission line projects across the country.
According to officials, NTDC has completed 23 projects of transmission lines and grid stations, including the 500kv grid station Faisalabad West and 220kv grid station Jhimpir-II.
Around 51 projects worth $2,081.868 million are at different stages of development, funded by different donor agencies and through NTDC’s resources.
The minister stressed the need to ensure delivery on targets and upkeep of transmission system assets to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers through DISCOs.
