Court seeks report on kidnapping case

'Abductee has not yet been recovered, suspects have not been arrested'

KARACHI:

Additional District and Sessions Judge Sharqi has sought a report from the police regarding their failure to arrest the accused who abducted Samia Bibi from the precincts of Aziz Bhatti police station a month-anda-half ago.

A petition against the failure to arrest the suspect was heard before Additional District and Sessions Judge Karachi East at the City Court.

Liaquat Gabol, the counsel for the petitioner, took the position that a month-and-ahalf months had passed since Samia was abducted.

"The abductee has not yet been recovered and the suspects have not been arrested. Despite the registration of the case, the plaintiff is constantly compelled to visit the police station," he pointed out.

The plaintiff also appealed to Additional IG Karachi, DIG and SSP East, but no progress was made.

"The accused who kidnapped Samia are roaming around in public, but the police are not arresting them."

The court has sought a report from the police on the failure to arrest the accused. According to police, a case of kidnapping was registered at Aziz Bhatti police station.
