ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) announced results of annual examination of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-I for 2011 on Friday. 44,882 students submitted applications, of which 44,278 students appeared in the exams. Of these, 23,254 students passed, for a pass percentage of 52.52. In the pre-medical group (regular) 8,695 students appeared, 2,129 boys and 6,566 girls, in which 5,712 students passed the examination with a passing percentage of 65.69. In science group (regular) 8,177 students appeared in the exam; 4,486 boys and 3,691 girls. Of them 3,931 students passed the examination for a pass percentage of 48.07. In the humanities group (regular) 7,829 students appeared, in which 1,363 boys and 6,466 girls took part. Of these, 4,084 students (52.17%) passed the examination.
