Amber Heard fired her entire PR team after negative headlines against her float online

'She is frustrated with her story not being told effectively,' quoted a source close to the actor

The high-profile defamation trial involving Hollywood actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, is only getting uglier with each advancement in court. From embarrassing “shat-on-the-pillow” stories to horrifying details of instances of domestic abuse and verbal threats, the case has turned out to be much more than a black and white slate of justice.

The daily reporting of the trials allegedly affected Heard so much that she has reportedly fired her entire PR team and abruptly switched to a new one. According to the New York Post, the Aquaman actor was “upset” by the negative headlines surrounding her conduct in her ongoing trial against ex-husband Depp.

The publication shared that sources close to Heard have the news of her switching to a new PR firm in the middle of the trial. “She doesn’t like bad headlines,” an insider told the publication, referring to the negative coverage following Heard during the trial. Apart from the negative press, there is also a social media petition calling for her to be dropped from Aquaman 2 with over two million signatures and counting. Another source close to the actor quoted that she is now “frustrated with her story not being told effectively.”

Depp has sued Heard for $50 million, claiming that she defamed him in a 2018 op-ed piece for Washington Post where she spoke about surviving domestic abuse. He claims that the piece ended up damaging his film career and reputation, including losing a lead role in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise, a Harry Potter spin off. However, Heard’s lawyers claim that it does not amount to defamation as she did not name Depp in the piece and wrote it in the larger interest.

The trial, which began on April 11, has been underway for about three weeks now and Depp has already testified. In his testimony, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor claimed he was himself a victim of abuse at the hands of his ex-wife and not the other way around. Heard is set to take the stand in a few days.

The American trial comes less than two years after Depp lost a libel case against The Sun, a British tabloid that had labelled him a “wife-beater". A London High Court judge ruled he had repeatedly assaulted Heard and put her in fear for her life.
