KARACHI:

The Sindh Services Tribunal has restricted the process of promotion to DSP from the inspector till the next hearing. The Sindh Services Tribunal in Karachi heard the petition of Raj Kumar Lohana regarding promotion to the post of DSP from the inspector.

The public prosecutor asked for a respite. The public prosecutor said that a briefing should be sought from the concerned authorities regarding the case. After taking briefing from the concerned authorities, he will be able to provide proper assistance to the tribunal in the case.

Petitioner’s counsel Rajesh Kumar requested to stop the promotion process and contended that Raj Kumar Lohana was declared a junior in the seniority list while the petitioner’s name was in the list of seniors in the list submitted to the Supreme Court in 2016.

In 2019, the seniority list was manipulated. It is requested that the promotion process be stopped till the next hearing. The court granted the petition of the petitioner’s counsel. The tribunal ordered the suspension of the inspector’s promotion in the case. The tribunal stayed the promotion process till the next hearing.
