Cop martyred, four injured in Charsadda, Bajaur blasts
A policeman was killed in a grenade attack at a police station in Charsadda district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Friday afternoon.
Police told The Express Tribune that unidentified miscreants threw a hand grenade at the main gate of the Nisata police station in Charsadda which exploded with a big bang and left a police constable Raham Badshah dead.
“The explosion left the main gate and a boundary wall damaged. The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime taking full advantage of the confusion,” said a police official, adding that a large contingent of police reached the spot and carried out a door to door search operation in the area.
“The BDU teams are inspecting the site of the attack while the body of the slain constable has been sent for an autopsy,” he said. In Bajaur tribal district of K-P four people were injured in a roadside IED attack.
Police said that the blast took place in Erab, tehsil Mamond.
“A local resident Azizur Rehman along with guards was on his way home after offering prayers at a mosque when the blast occurred,” said a police official, adding that Aziz and three other people were injured in the blast who have been shifted to Peshawar for treatment.
