Good news for fans following Amazon Prime India’s OTT releases! The streaming giant announced 41 more titles, slated for release as soon as this year, at an event hosted by Indian director Karan Johar. The list included more seasons for the fan favourite hit series, Mirzapur, Four Mour Shots Please and Made in Heaven.
On Thursday, the OTT platform took to its social media handles and revealed its upcoming shows and movies with a four minute long clip including mini teasers for each item.
The snippet included four categories — new, international adaptation, returning favourites and unscripted series. It surely will be a big year for the streaming giant given the exciting faces and titles in the clip, but what caught everyone’s attention were the third installments for Mirzapur and Four More Shots Please caught our attention.
Instead of including a teaser in the clip, Amazon Prime India revealed the news of a follow up season for the Pankaj Tripathi starrer crime drama separately as post.
Announcing the return of the don, the post also confirmed the same cast, featuring Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Shweta Tripathi, Harshita Gaur, Shaji Chaudhary, Rasika Dugal for the third season as well. However, a final release date is yet to be announced.
The platform also hyped up the third installment of the women centric show Four More Shots Please which starred Sayani Gupta, VJ Bani, Kirti Kulhari, Maanvi Gagroo, Prateik Babbar and more in its previous seasons.
Based on the lives of four women in their late 20s and early 30s trying to make sense out of life while also putting their own needs first, the show brings them with their miseries and achievements to a nightclub where they bond for a lifetime. Here’s awaiting where adulthood takes their unbreakable bond this time. Just like Mirzapur, this one hasn’t announced a release date so far too.
The last bit of the good news is the return of the sassiest wedding planner known! Starring Sobhita Dhulipala, Jim Sarbh, Arjun Mathur, Kalki Koechlin and Shashank Arora, Made in Heaven got a short trailer that revealed a second season in making.
The original cast is back for the second round of wedding festivities, dance numbers and controversies including Tara (Dhulipala) and her husband Adil Khanna drifting apart as she discovers her best friend Faiza's (Koechlin) affair with Adil. The show had closed with the wedding planner taking all the money and jewellery as payback for cheating behind her back while she focuses on her business and her business partner Karan (Mathur). There's no confirmed release date for the show.
Apart from these three, there were many exciting projects revealed in the trailer montage shared by Amazon Prime India. It included Madhuri Dixit’s second OTT show, as a matriarch's for dramedy Majaa Maa, a film directed by Anand Tiwari and a show titled Hush Hush starring Juhi Chawla, Soha Ali Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, Kritika Kamra, Shahana Goswami and Karishma Tanna. The Shahid Kapoor starrer web-series Farzi was announced, which will show him as an artist working at his grandfather's printing press and designing the ultimate con. Sonakshi Sinha's OTT debut in series Dahaad in which she'll be donning a police officer's role and a docu-series on the Brown Munde singer AP Dhillon were also featured.
