British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that United Kingdom and Pakistan enjoy deep ties supported by strong people-to-people links and expressed his keen desire to working with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif areas of common interest.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, dated April 26, Johnson congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz on his election. He conveyed his best wishes to Prime Minister Shehbaz and the people of Pakistan on the 75th independence anniversary.

The British prime minister recalled his meeting with Shehbaz in 2016 during his visit to Pakistan and the discussions held on a number of shared interests including girls’ education, health, economics and trade relations. Johnson expressed hope for a meeting with the prime minister in person soon.
