Targeted police and law enforcement operations continued throughout the night and several people were detained as part of the investigation into the bomb blast at the University of Karachi.
Among those detained were close friends of the suicide bomber's husband. A van carrying Chinese teachers at Karachi University was attacked by a suicide bomber on Tuesday afternoon, killing three foreign nationals and a Pakistani.
An investigation into the incident has been launched and large-scale raids continued between Wednesday and Thursday night. Law enforcement agencies from different parts of the city carried out targeted operations and arrested several people.
Operations were carried out in Sultanabad, Quaidabad, various societies of Scheme 33 and Baldia Town. Sources said that the detainees included close friends of Hebatan Baloch, the husband of suicide bomber Shari Baloch. Important information is expected to retrieved from these suspects.
