Army chief reviews troops' operational preparedness during LoC visit

ISPR says Gen Qamar appreciates soldiers’ combat readiness and high state of morale

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) and received a briefing on the situation and operational preparedness of the formation, the military said.

"The COAS interacted with the troops deployed along LoC in Chakothi Sector and spent time with them," a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The military's media wing added that the army chief appreciated the combat readiness and high state of morale of the troops.

Earlier, upon arrival at the LoC, Gen Qamar was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.

Last month, Gen Qamar visited Punjab Regimental Centre Mardan and lauded the performance of all ranks.

Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the performance of all ranks of the Punjab Regiment during peace and war. He also paid rich tribute to the shuhada (martyrs) and their families for their supreme sacrifices.

The COAS appreciated the morale and highest standards of training and operational preparedness of the regiment and stressed the need to excel in professional pursuits in line with the latest trends.

In the same month, he encouraged the youth of Balochistan to join law enforcement agencies and contribute to the security and stability of the area.

He had visited Turbat where he was given a detailed briefing on the security situation of Balochistan and border management measures.
