‘Close all access roads to the Indus River’

Steps taken to discourage bathing and swimming in the river

HARIPUR:

In order to implement the imposition of section 144 on the River Indus, Assistant Commissioner Tehsil Ghazi Fiza Mohsin directed the TMA Ghazi Tehsil staff to close all the access roads to the Indus River and to put up banners on these roads to stop the influx of tourists, especially from Swabi District.

A notification was issued by Deputy Commissioner Haripur Mughees Sanaullah.

The Tehsil Ghazi assistant commissioner instructed the officials to make announcements inside mosques in all Village Councils and to ensure that the public complies with the order and take steps to discourage bathing and swimming in the River Indus.

Tehsil Ghazi Assistant Commissioner Fiza Mohsin visited all the tourist spots in the Ghazi sub-division and pointed out all the points to the police besides the hotel owners and instructed them not to let the people go into the water. She directed officials concerned to complete all the arrangements by next week.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Haripur Mughees Sanaullah, Additional Assistant Commissioner Haripur Rao Hashim along with District Food Controller Haripur inspected the stalls of commission agents in Sabzi Mandi besides visiting various shopping malls and wholesale dealers' shops.
