New ward to be constructed

Local industrial group to bankroll construction

Deputy Commissioner Salman Khan Lodhi said that the 100-bed mother and child unit would be constructed with donations from the Jadeed Group of Industries at DHQ hospital.

Addressing a meeting on the project on Friday, the DC stated that the ward's construction had almost started, adding that it would offer special facilities for maternal and pediatric health.

A Thalassemia Centre will also be set up, while the Dialysis Center and ICU ward would be upgraded, he maintained. He said any institution or people who help out the masses are exemplary, since it helps build society on modern ground and achieve desired objectives.

Jadeed Group of Industries Chairman Javed Arain said they were honoured to protect patients in their district. He added that the services of the best medical professionals were being sought in the new unit and hailed that a modern hospital was being set up in collaboration with the district administration.

District Police Officer Syed Nadeem Abbas, Health Dr CO Khalid Naseem, DHO Dr Fazlur Rehman Bilal, Former Director Health Dr Muhammad Rafi, Former CO Health Dr Tariq Gilani, Project Director Dr Khalid Rafique and other officers were present at the meeting.
