The latest episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was full of surprising announcements! On Tuesday, American actor Aaron Paul announced that he and his wife Lauren recently welcomed their second baby together, a son named Ryden. "His name is Ryden and I love him," Paul told Fallon, and further added that his co-star Bryan Cranston will be Ryden’s godfather.
The show turned more wholesome when Fallon displayed the first photos of the adorable newborn as Paul gushed over his baby and added words of affectionate affirmation such as "he's the best." According to the Breaking Bad star, the couple’s 4-year-old daughter is "madly in love" with her baby brother. "[She] can't squeeze him enough. Like, she lays on top of him, suffocates him," he adds with a laugh. "It's her doll."
Paul shocked fans and Fallon alike when he teased that his Breaking Bad costar Bryan Cranston turned down the offer of being baby Ryden’s godfather. Alas, that was not the truth and Paul revealed that Cranston already shares a special relationship with the infant. "I asked Bryan on his birthday if he would be our baby's godfather. He's very excited, very honoured," Paul said. "I love the man to death. He's one of my best friends in the world, and, so yeah, it was just a no-brainer."
On Wednesday, a day after the show aired, both Paul and Lauren introduced their baby to their Instagram fans and revealed his full name. "My little man. Ryden Caspian Paul. So happy you are out in this world you beautiful boy you. I promise to make you proud little guy. We have been absorbing this baby boy for the last month and feel it's time to finally share the news of his arrival. We love you endlessly," read the caption of the actor’s post.
Lauren also took to her page and wrote, "We've spent the last month getting acquainted with this little guy and we couldn't be more in love. Born on a full moon, he has such a gentle and knowing spirit. I'm so deeply thankful that he chose us to be a part of his journey. [His] name is inspired by our favourite artist, Mark Ryden."
Paul and his wife first announced their second pregnancy news on Instagram in December alongside a photo of their daughter, Story, touching her mom's baby bump.
"We can't wait to meet you, baby! We love you so much already," Lauren wrote, while Paul shared on his page, "Love you so much already little one. Can't wait to meet you number 2,” with a heart and baby face emoji.
