At least one terrorist was killed during an exchange of fire with the security forces in Datta Khel area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's North Waziristan district on Tuesday, the military said.
"On April 19, fire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists in general area Datta Khel, North Waziristan district," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement this evening.
"During intense exchange of fire, terrorist Fareed Ahmed got killed. Weapon and ammunition was also recovered from the killed terrorist," it added.
According to the military's media wing, the killed terrorist remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces.
Concluding, the ISPR said that the locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area.

Two days ago, two most wanted terrorists were killed during a joint operation of the Pakistan Army and intelligence agencies in Dera Ismail Khan's Kolachi area.
As per details, the killed terrorists — identified as Khalil and Ahsan aka Deva — were involved in attacks using improvised explosive devices (IED), targeting polio teams and extortion.
Last week, seven soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom as terrorists ambushed a military convoy near the Pak-Afghan border area in North Waziristan district.
The security forces initiated a prompt response, effectively engaged and killed four terrorists.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while condemning the incident, had said that the martyrdom of soldiers will not be in vain. "Make no mistake about it, we will hunt down those responsible," the premier warned.
