Army team reaches Ramazan football cup final

Meraj Khan from Chaman managed to win the hearts of the fans due to his unique style and game

KARACHI:

Pakistan Army defeated Burma Afridi by one goal and made it to the final of the second New Nazimabad Ramadan Cup Floodlights Football Tournament.

Ali Raza scored the decisive goal in the 91st minute of the second semi-final at New Nazimabad Football Ground and was declared Man of the Match.

The final will be played on Tuesday at 11pm between Madhu Muhammadan, Gulshan Iqbal and Pakistan Army.

Guest of Honor Imtiaz Sheikh, Vice President, Sindh Olympic Association presented the Best Athlete Award to Ali Raza.

Salman Foods Country Head Sarfraz Ahmed Khan, Sports Manager Muhammad Asif and others were also present on the occasion.

Burma Afridi’s team lost the match but Burma Afridi’s player Meraj Khan from Chaman managed to win the hearts of the fans due to his unique style and game and he was the center of attention of the spectators.

At the end of the match, the fans carried Mairaj on their shoulders and took a selfie with him.

The final of the tournament will be played between Madhu Muhammadan of Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Pakistan Army team at 11pm on Tuesday (today) at night.

Ramazan brings scores of sports tournaments in the city.
