A man was shot dead while another was injured when a fight broke out between two groups over a land dispute in the limits of Mandra police station.

Police sdaid that Masood and Ateeq had a heated argument over a land dispute and then they opened fire at each other. As a result, Masood suffered multiple gunshots and died while Ateeq was injured and was shifted to a nearby hospital. CPO Rawalpindi Omar Saeed Malik took notice of the incident and demanded a report from SP Saddar, and instructed them to apprehend the suspects immediately.

In a separate incident, a 50-year-old man was shot and injured near Kallar Syedan bypass.

He was being taken to a hospital in Rawalpindi but he died on the way.

Police said that the unidentified assailant had shot him six times in his face and fled after committing the crime. They suspected that the killing took place over personal enmity.

Police took the motorcycle of the deceased into their custody which was parked on the road and started searching for his family. Police are looking into the case.

A woman died in a road accident in the limits of Mandra police station.

According to the police, the deceased woman named Fahmida Bibi’s son Owais told the police that he, along with his mother and cousin Ishaair Rahman were on their way to his aunt's house and just as they reached Bahadur hotel stop, a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle. As a result, they all suffered serious injuries while Owais’s mother succumbed to her injuries on her way to hospital.

The car’s driver who was identified as Noman escaped and left his car on the spot. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
