Singer Hasan Raheem took to Twitter on Sunday night to request for prayers for his deceased father, who he shared passed away recently. He wrote, “Salam Everyone, my dearest abba jee has departed from this world. I would request you all to pray for his maghfirat. May Allah grace him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.”

Several fans sent their condolences, with one recalling a moment at the singer’s concert when he asked the crowd to pray for his father’s health. They wrote, “This is devastating. I remember you asking to pray for his speedy recovery at a concert… sending prayers your way.”

On the work front, Hasan most recently made headlines with his Coke Studio debut, in which he was featured alongside Talal Qureshi and the Justin Bibis. The song, titled Peechay Hutt, divided critics and audiences but was overall one of the season’s more popular tracks. His latest offering was a collaboration with Abdullah Kasumbi and Talhah Yunus titled Weli Ho, which was released in early March.
