Student tortured to death in hostel

Police launch hunt for unidentified murderers

Unidentified men allegedly barged into a hostel and tortured a first-year student to death.

According to the police, a case was lodged at the People's Colony police station by Mansib Ali, a resident of Hafizabad district, who stated that his nephew, Muhammad Sulaiman, was a first year student at a private college located on Jaranwala Road and was living in Al-Jannat Hostel.

He was allegedly tortured by unknown individuals who entered the hostel.

Seeing him lying unconscious in the hostel, the owner Sarfraz informed the complainant’s brother-in-law Nazir Hussain. When he reached the spot, he found the dead on the spot. Police took the body into custody and handed it over to the family after postmortem.

A case was registered against the unidentified suspects on charges of murder.

Police said an investigation was under way to identify the killers.
