Mine Caves In: Four workers die in Kot Diji

Three labourers, Ajab Gul, Hoat, and Imran Gopang died on the spot.

KHAIRPUR: At least four workers lost their lives and another four were injured when a portion of a mine of Fuller’s earth (Multani Mitti) caved in as they were digging, early in the morning on Friday, near the shrine of Adam Sultan Badshah, about 20km from Kot Diji, in Khairpur district. All the dead and injured labourers were teenagers. Three labourers, Ajab Gul, Hoat, and Imran Gopang died on the spot while another, Aijaz, passed away later in the day. The injured include Arbab, Nisar and Nisar Ratar, as well another who could not be identified. All the workers belonged to Kot Dji. It is said that 15 labourers were working in the mine and another 15 were sleeping outside when it caved in.
