Seven soldiers martyred in North Waziristan convoy attack
Seven soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom as terrorists ambushed a military convoy near the Pak-Afghan border area in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's North Waziristan district, the military said in a statement on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces initiated a prompt response, effectively engaged and killed four terrorists
The martyred included 36-year-old resident of Faisalabad Havaldar Tariq Yousaf, 34-year-old resident of Layyah Sepoy Suleman Waqas, 26-year-old resident of Layyah Sepoy Junaid Ali, 27-year-old resident of Khairpur Sepoy Ijaz Hussain, 25-year-old resident of Mirpur Khas Sepoy Waqar Ahmed, 24-year-old resident of Chakwal Sepoy Muhammad Jawad Ameer and 23-year-old resident of Sohbatpur Sepoy Arshad Ali.

The ISPR said that a clearance operation in the Isham area of North Waziristan is underway to eliminate any terrorists. "The Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," the statement further said.
On Thursday, a soldier of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with terrorists in the district.
According to the ISPR, troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location. "However, during an intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Asmatullah Khan (age 28 years, resident of Mianwali), having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat," the statement added.

On Tuesday, a Pakistan Army officer and a soldier embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in South Waziristan district.
“On night 11/12 April 2022, fire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists in general area Angoor Adda, South Waziristan District,” the military’s media wing said.
Last week, two soldiers were martyred and an officer injured during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by the security forces in Singi, near Mashkai in Balochistan.
According to the ISPR, the security forces conducted an operation in the area between the night of April 7 and 8 on the information of the presence of terrorists.
“During the operation, two valiant sons of the soil, Naik Tajwali and Sepoy Osama embraced Shahadat while one officer got injured,” the military’s media wing said.
'Will hunt those responsible'
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while condemning the incident, said that the martyrdom of soldiers will not be in vain. "Make no mistake about it, we will hunt down those responsible," the premier warned.
He said that the brave martyrs will continue to inspire us and we will continue to defeat terrorism and protect our soil.
