HYDRABAD:

The Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has asserted that there is no plan of creating a new province in Sindh.

He was talking to the media after attending the anniversary of his father and former Sindh CM Syed Abdullah Shah in Sehwan, Jamshoro district, on Thursday.

"The people want creation of new provinces within K-P and other provinces. But these provinces can only be formed on the basis of wishes of the people of those provinces," he said. "But no new province will be made in Sindh."

He thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for visiting Sindh and giving a fair hearing to the province's problems about which he was briefed in the meeting in CM House Karachi.

Shah said Sharif assured that he will give priority to addressing problems of the province.

According to the CM, he also apprised the PM about the province's concerns over a lack of implementation on the 1991 Water Accord which created water shortages in the province. He told that the PM assured that soon the federal government will also settle this issue.

He informed that the first phase of the local government elections in the province will be held on June 26 and the second phase in the month of July.

Responding to a question the CM said all the allied parties in the center will unanimously elect the country's president.
