KARACHI:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will address a public meeting in Karachi on Saturday, April 16 instead of earlier announced date of April 17.

He is expected to announce the strategy for the party in Karachi under current political scenario.

This was announced by former Imran Ismail in a post shared on micro-bogging social media site Twitter.

PTI Karachi President Bilal Ghaffar in a tweet asked Karachittes to start preparations for a historical gathering in support of Imran Khan. Watching your zeal and fervour, Imran Khan has decided to be among you a day earlier, that is Saturday, instead of Sunday. The PTI chairman will make a historical public address at 9pm on Saturday, Ghaffar said adding that Imran Khan will announce the future course of action for the party in Karachi.

Meanwhile, the party also cancelled the press conference of former finance minister Shaukat Tareen. The press conference was scheduled to be held at Governor House, Karachi at 11am on Tuesday.

PTI had earlier announced to hold a public meeting in Karachi on Sunday April 17 as part of a countrywide protest campaign against the removal of its government. However, party bosses pulled the date a day back on weekend that is Saturday April 16.

In a Twitter post, PTI leader Asad Umar said, "Pakistan will see how Karachi stands with its leader for a Khuddar Pakistan.”
