Young man gunned down in Pindi
A young man was shot dead near the Glass Factory Chowk in the limits of Waris Khan police station.
Police said that the deceased’s father was present at the time of the murder and he rushed his injured son to Benazir Hospital in critical condition, but the gunshots in the head proved fatal.
The suspects, who were his friends, fled the scene after committing the crime, said the police, adding that a case has been registered.
Shahzadah Hassan told police that he was near Taj Plaza with his 22-year-old son, Emadul Hassan between Monday and Tuesday night. Meanwhile, two young men aged between 30 and 35 came on a motorcycle, greeted his son who told him they were his friends and they went a little farther chatting with Emad.
Meanwhile, one of the men pulled out a pistol and fired directly at his son, said Hassan, adding that the bullet hit the right side of Emad’s head, injuring him seriously.
Hassan said that he took his injured son to Benazir Hospital with the help of his brother-in-law and Rescue 1122 workers buts his son succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased’s father told police that his brother-in-law and he could identify the suspects. The accused had fled towards Rawal Road after killing Emad, he added.
The body was handed over to family after completing legal and medical formalities.
Meanwhile, City Police Officer Rawalpindi Omar Saeed Malik visited the residence of a 12 -year Abdul Ahad who was shot dead in firing by robbers on Monday in the Jurisdiction of Pirwadhi police station.
SSP Operations Wasim Riaz Khan, SP Rawal Babar Javed Joya, SDPO City, SHO Pirwadhi was also accompanied CPO.
CPO Omar Saeed Malik met the family members and expressed sorrow over the tragic incident and prayed for the elevation of the deceased.
SSP Operations Wasim Riaz Khan briefed CPO about the investigation so far, adding that a robber involved in the tragic incident has been arrested and rushed to the hospital in critical condition while police teams are conducting raids to nab the fugitives.
