Alleged PTI supporter calls Noor Alam Khan a 'turncoat' and also throws a bottle at PTI dissident lawmaker

ISLAMABAD:

A scuffle broke out between an elderly man and PTI dissident Noor Alam Khan after the former allegedly called Khan a ‘turncoat’ and used cuss words against him at a private hotel in Islamabad on Tuesday. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

According to reports, Khan, along with PPP leaders Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Faisal Karim Kundi, was having iftar dinner at the private hotel where the elderly citizen, said to be a PTI worker, was also present.

In the video, Khan and Khokhar can be seen thrashing the citizen after he threw bottle at the dissident PTI lawmaker.

Just in from Marriott Islamabad, an elderly man chanted slogans against Turncoats and he was beaten ferociously by PPP Sentor Mustafa Khokhar, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Noor Alam Khan.

Meanwhile, MNA Noor Alam Khan has submitted an application to the Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad, seeking registration of a case against the unidentified citizen.

He maintained in the application that the elderly man started swearing at him while he was having Iftar dinner with the PPP leaders.

After being told to stop using offensive words, the alleged PTI supporter attacked the lawmaker, said Alam while demanding police to take legal action against the accused.

Last week, the PTI submitted references against its 20 rebel lawmakers to National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser before he stepped down. The references were sent by the prime minister and handed over to the speaker by the party’s chief whip in the house, Amir Dogar.

The references were filed under Article 63-A of the Constitution. The article suggests disqualification of an MNA on grounds of defection for not obeying the parliamentary party’s directions in the election of the prime minister, chief minister or vote of confidence or no-confidence.

The references read that the dissidents were exposed via “large-scale broadcast and videos” to have quit the PTI, joined the opposition for the no-trust motion against the premier and no denials or rebuttals were issued to the acts of defection.

They added that show-cause notices were sent to the rebel lawmakers to clarify why declarations to de-seat them from the NA should not be issued against them but they had failed to respond to them or clarify their position.
