Arshad Pappu gang ‘accountant’ arrested

Police sources also claim recovering sensitive data of cash transactions with footprints leading to Iran and Dubai

KARACHI:

Police and intelligence sleuths netted a suspect they claim was the bookkeeper of one of Karachi's biggest organized crime network - Arshad Pappu gang.

The suspect, Shah Fahad, was accused of looking after the financial affairs of the gang. He kept tab of the collection of extortion, ransom, collections from muggings and robberies and distribution of the sum in the members and operatives of the gang.

Police sources also claim recovering sensitive data of cash transactions with footprints leading to Iran and Dubai.

Meanwhile, as per an official statement, Karachi police arrested a member of Lyari's notorious Arshad Papu gang in a joint operation with an intelligence agency on Friday.

Preedy Police Station and an intelligence agency arrested an important member of Arshad Pappu gang and recovered a hand grenade, the statement said.

The arrested suspect, Shah Fahad, used to look after the financial affairs of Arshad Pappu gang. A case had been registered against the suspect under Anti-Terrorism Act, whereas further investigations were underway.
