15-year-old raped at Charsadda seminary

CHARSADDA:

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped at a religious seminary in Charsadda district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Tuesday.

The victim lodged an FIR with police stating that she studies at a girls’ seminary in Charsadda on Ghani Khan Road and the son of a teacher (Qari) was after her for a long time.

“The accused Qasim always urged me to come to him but I avoided him. On the day of the incident I had to check my marks on the upper flour and this provided him with an opportunity. He pulled me into a room and tied both my hands. He then raped me,” she stated in the FIR.

Police initially declined to register an FIR in the case but when local residents were informed they put pressure on Serdheri police station after which an FIR was registered against the accused.
