Maryam terms letter fake, asks military to reveal truth
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice President Maryam Nawaz has termed the foreign country’s letter seeking to oust Prime Minister Imran Khan through the no-trust motion as “fake”, asking the military to come forward and expose the truth behind this “lettergate” conspiracy.
Addressing a hurriedly called news conference here, Maryam said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf instead of bringing forward their performance to woo the people, conjured up a conspiracy theory. “This letter, which Imran Khan waived in the rally, has no origin, and it is fake.”
The PML-N vice president questioned that if Imran could make all the contents of the letter public and expose all those who were behind it, what stopped him?

Maryam said Imran realised that the people would see through the “fake letter”, adding that if the state institutions had seen the letter, they would have ripped apart the conspiracy theory that the government was building upon it.
She maintained that if the letter was of any value, the PTI would have kept it before the honorable Supreme Court.
“The letter did not mention any conspiracy.” She said that the letter, that “they term as a cabal”, was actually drafted in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A day before the rally, wherein Imran waived the letter, they got their ambassador out of America and “smuggled” him into Brussels, knowing very well that America would inquire from the ambassador about the letter.
She termed it a drama, stating that the letter did not exist. “This drama will soon get exposed. Imran Khan has the effrontery to misuse the National Security Committee’s statement for his petty political gains.”
She said that the military institution and the security establishment should come forward and keep the reality of this conspiracy before the people.
She said, “Imran and his cronies used pictures of meeting with diplomats as evidence to prove this conspiracy. If so, why did he (Imran Khan) hold meetings with diplomats when he was in the opposition?”
The reason for abrogating the constitution, and the reason for dissolving the assembly was to save himself from any corruption investigation, she added. “Imran knows it very well that any elected government will try him for the massive corruption that took place during his stint.”
She said Farah, was made to flee the country in the dead of the night, but they will get her back through Interpol. She said that Farah was not a front woman, but a defacto Punjab CM, with strings leading back to Bani Gala. In Punjab, transfers and postings were either done with bribery or with sorcery.
She said that the speaker did not have the immunity to transgress from his defined powers, and do anything unconstitutional. “Either more than half of the assembly members are traitors or the deputy speaker is a traitor.”

She said that this abrogation of law could not be tolerated at any cost. Tolerating this, she said, would open flood gates for future violations.
“If the courts did not punish the violators of the Constitution, people will,” Maryam said, adding that Imran, who had vowed to fight till the last ball, made off from the field seeing an imminent defeat.
She said that the PML-N was ready to face them in the elections but first there was this question of abrogation of the Constitution. “We have heard that Imran had a meeting in Punjab, which was not attended by 55 of his MPAs.”
Maryam evaded the question regarding Aleem Khan and Jahangir Khan Tareen who she used to call mafia and Imran’s ATM.
