Here’s all we know about Ranbir-Alia’s impending nuptials!

The celebrity couple is reportedly getting married in a private affair in mid-April 2022.

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and girlfriend, actor Alia Bhatt’s wedding is the next big Indian ceremony that everyone is eagerly waiting for. The celebrity couple was supposed to get married two years ago but had to postpone their nuptials due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, while they like to keep their relationship private, the duo, on many occasions, has confirmed their intentions of getting married “sooner” rather than later.

Earlier, Indian media reported that the wedding would take place later this year in September or December but now, it seems like the wait will not be that long. Hindustan Times has reported that the much-awaited Bollywood wedding of the power couple is just a few weeks away! Earlier, a source close to Ranbir and Alia had revealed that they have zeroed in on the wedding date in mid-April.

"There's a strong buzz in the industry that Ranbir and Alia will get married in April 2022.” The same source later shared that the duo have asked for free dates from work during April, only legitimising the news even further. “The couple has even asked for free dates from their respective film shoots for the big day," the source told India Today.

Speculations are rife that Ranbir and Alia are all set to tie the knot in the second week of April in the Kapoor family’s ancestral home, RK House in Chembur, Mumbai. But another report suggested that the couple might just have an engagement in April with the wedding slated to take place in December this year.

Ranbir’s uncle, Randhir Kapoor in a conversation with the Hindustan Times denied the April wedding at the family house in Mumbai. “I’m not in Mumbai right now, and I haven’t heard anything about the wedding. If such a big wedding was happening at our house, somebody would have surely called me up and informed me,” he said.

Moreover, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor’s aunt Rima Jain also reacted to the reports of Ranbir and Alia’s April wedding. She said, “Nothing that I know of yet. They will get married but I don’t know when. They will decide and then suddenly you will all get to know.”

While the close family’s words say otherwise, their shopping hauls indeed point towards a close wedding impending soon!

Recently, Ranbir's mom, Neetu Kapoor, was spotted at celebrity designer Manish Malhotra's store and likewise, Manish was spotted at their house. The Rockstar actor in an interview with NDTV on March 31, also hinted that the couple will take the plunge soon. “I won't give out a date during a media interaction. But Alia and I have all the intentions of getting married soon, so yes, hopefully soon,” Ranbir was quoted saying.
 

Pinkvilla earlier reported that the Gangubai Kathiawadi actor has decided to wear a Sabyasachi lehenga on her big day and while the couple had finalised their wedding outfits, a source claimed that the celebrity designer is now reworking bride-to-be Alia’s lehenga given some revisions by the family.

As of now, the couple, who first met on the sets of their upcoming film, Brahmastra, are celebrating the wrap of the same, which also marks their first onscreen collaboration. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the fantasy drama is slated to release on September 9 this year and also stars legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.
