Silver sequins to floral appliqué: Four outfits that peaked Grammy-fashion

While we wait with bated breaths, here is a lowdown of our most-favourite outfits over the years.

KARACHI:

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022. It will recognise the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, running from September 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021.

Like every year, we are sure to witness some drool-worthy outfits from Hollywood A-listers. And while we wait with bated breaths, here is a lowdown of our most-favourite Grammy outfits over the years.

1. Taylor Swift (2021)

Straight out of the fairy woods, the Love Story crooner stunned in an Oscar de la Renta number that only she could have pulled off. The mini dress was covered with floral appliqué. Inspired by the 70s, it featured a high neckline and bell sleeves. Swift finished off the look with a pair of light pink Christian Louboutin heels that were tied around her ankles with matching ribbons. The printed dress was just the right length and the primary reason why her look did not come off as too OTT. As for her accessories, she opted for earrings and rings by Cathy Waterman jewellery. Sticking to the floral palette, her eye shadow too, radiated a distinctly feminine feel. We loved this statement piece!

2. Dua Lipa (2020)

She was hands down one of the first tinsel town ladies to sport the classy matching separates look. Lipa slipped into a white silk two-piece outfit for the event. She donned a mid-waisted maxi slip skirt, paired with a bustier-style top featuring a draped front, from designer Alexander Wang. Dua’s jewellery and hair completed the retro vibe: a single-strand diamond choker, matching line bracelet and multiple rings for the win! Her hair was pulled back in a topknot with two elongated bangs pulled out to the front, and parted in the middle.

3. Lady Gaga (2019)

Woot woot! Gaga stunned in a sequin silver Celine dress by Hedi Slimane for the 2019 Grammys. She accessorised with over 100 carats of Tiffany & Co. diamonds. The ensemble comprised a thigh-high slit and voluminous frills on one side. Simple silver heels and a diamond choker added to the finishing touches. She let her hair down in loose waves and opted for a nude pout. Go gaga!

4. Rita Ora (2018)

The daring look was surely one for the books! Ora’s Ralph & Russo gown fit her like a glove. The velvet off-the-shoulder dress exuded drama and glamour with its thigh-high slit. And oh, those sparkly silver embellishments were just at the right places of the dress – not too in-the-face but pretty visible too! She decided to go for a contrasting maroon lip, voluminous blowdry, diamond studs and pointed black heels – the right way to let the outfit do the talking!
